Happy Tuesday y’all! I’m back this week with another helpful tip for all of you budgeting rockstars out there! This one is even tough for me, so we’ll get through this together.
Yep, patience. Being patient is one of the toughest things about budgeting, in my opinion. We are all so used to instant gratification these days. We want something, we go get it. Is this the best way to budget? No way. haha
Saving money takes great patience and self control. It’s definitely not for the weak. But you know what? You can totally DO THIS! Not giving in to that little voice telling you that spending a few extra dollars here and there won’t matter, will pay off in the end. And I don’t mean at the end of your life, when you won’t be around to care about your money anyways, but your current ends: the end of the pay period when you might be living on a few dollars and trying to stretch it.
I always hate that feeling when I get to the last few days of my pay period and know that I barely have enough money set aside to do what I need to do. It would be SO much nicer to know I have the exact amount of money I need for each day and not stress over it. I have been in both positions, and I 100% prefer the second one.
The main key to being in a position where you have enough money for everything is patience. Set aside money every paycheck for savings. Set aside money for the trip you want to take so you have enough money to enjoy it when it happens. Set aside money for retirement, because it’s coming sooner than you think.
In order to set ourselves up for success, we have to put away money now and be patient. Every dollar adds up. You might not notice the difference in a few weeks, but in a year your patience will pay off! So organize your budget, set it up comfortably, and stick to it with patience as your goal!
Rock your budget! Then treat yourself to something awesome with the spending cash you set aside for treats! 🙂 You are a woman with a PLAN.

Just hopped over from the Savvy FB group. Super great tips here. I do love saving but sometimes it’s hard to be patient. Thanks for the reminder to stay the course and stick with a budget that’s comfortable.

Great words of wisdom. I’m currently trying to figure out how we are going to live on one paycheck with two hungry toddlers and a new baby due in August. Not easy! I need to buckle down and create a better plan for us.
