It’s Budget Tip Tuesday again! One of my favorite days! This week’s tip is really helpful for those who may be struggling a little bit with getting their budget just right. Sometimes it seems like things just don’t line up properly and you’re trying to find a way for things to change. Well, here is an option for solving that.
Start looking over your budget and find the one category that you can afford to change some things. If you are needing extra money in one category and you just don’t know where that money is going to come from, try looking at other categories like groceries or gas and see what you can do. A lot of times there are small changes you can make that will have a huge impact financially.
If you choose groceries to change, then try taking away a certain amount, say $20.00 for example, and adding that to another category where you need more funds. You could adapt to this change by doing things like not buying name brand cereal or other items and buying store brand for a while. Maybe try buying things in bulk or using coupons from the newspaper to save those extra dollars. Or, skip the fancy snacks you might buy for a while and find something else to snack on that’s cheaper.
If you choose the gas category to use less money on, try paying closer attention to all of the little trips you make around town. Try planning out your errands for one day and taking the most efficient route to get everything done. You will save the miles and have more money for more important things in your budget.
Everyone will have different needs in this situation. So look over your budget and see what needs to be adjusted, and where you can make changes to balance it all out better. One small change can take a lot of stress away from you, knowing you have it all taken care of instead of worrying about where that extra money will come from.
