Another week is coming to a close (or already has if you’re reading this in the evening) and I wanted to share a tip with you this week that will really help your peace level.
With all of the things we have today to fill our minds with, we can easily become overwhelmed mentally. We have our phones constantly around us, the radio going in the car, news on the TV or internet, and the list goes on and on. There are so many different avenues for information to travel into our minds these days, we almost have to protect ourselves from too much negativity.
It’s a good thing to be educated with the things going on in the world of course, but a lot of news today is just junk. Junk that we could do without and be better off for missing it really. So more recently, I have been choosing to fill my mind on purpose with the good stuff. Depending on your interests and what you enjoy hearing about, listening to a more uplifting radio station or podcasts is a great choice. I have really loved hearing podcasts from other women talking about their businesses and lives. Learning from others is really good for getting your mind off of the things you may be stressed about personally. Opening ourselves up to other people’s stories is really relaxing.
So next time you are in the car on the way to work or on the way home, or even on a road trip, find a podcast before you head out that you’d like to listen to and just enjoy it. You will see how much it slows your brain down compared to listening to fast music. Definitely give it a shot and see how your mind responds.
