I’m so excited to share today about creating an inspiration board in your planner as well as my own for 2020. If you want a beautiful reminder to keep you fueled and inspired all year long, keep reading!
You don’t have to do this in a planner, but I definitely recommend it as you will usually have it with you and can review if often. That is definitely key, being able to see it and remember what you are manifesting into your life. When your vision board is on the wall in a room, for example, you can’t see it when you’re at work, school, etc. This version being in a planner makes it really special and accessible!
Here’s How to Do It
To get started, you’ll need a page in your planner that can be covered up or one that is designed specifically for an Inspiration Board like the one in the Ashley Shelly Planner shown in my example.
Next, gather some of your favorite magazines, printed online images, photos, quotes, anything that makes you smile or you feel drawn to that can be taped down. You’ll also need some double-sided tape or a craft tape dispenser to attach everything.
Start going through your items and pull out anything that really speaks to you, represents how you want to feel, signifies a goal you want to accomplish, makes you feel joyful and positive, and set those aside. Now, go through them again and pick the very best ones! If you had to imagine your best year, does this image fit into it?
Once you have the best items chosen, you can start arranging, layering, and cutting them to fit onto your page size in your planner. Wait to tape anything down until you have an arrangement that you love! When you feel happy with how it looks, tape it all down from the back of the images. You can trim the edges if anything is hanging off to keep a clean look.
And that’s it! Your beautiful inspiration board is complete and ready to be enjoyed all year long 🙂
My Personal 2020 Inspiration Board
This year, I wanted to really focus on a few big things in my life. My family, the look and feel of my home (which I spend a lot of time in considering I work here as well), experiences that make me happy, and a fresh design perspective for my brand (Ashley Shelly).
I was really drawn to images that included the colors aqua, purple, or pink, and had a dreamy feel. I also chose anything that felt healthy, fresh, vibrant, or loving. Love is a big one for the focus on family and hope for growing ours in the next year.
Overall, I just wanted to look at this page in my planner and feel like it represents the very BEST version of me! I love how it turned out and hope you are excited about yours too!
Much love,
Ashley
